I hope we get some of the french capital ships that were in this Time Period as the Le'Orient and some very nice 2nd and 3rd rates. The Battle of Trafalgar was a huge battle between ships of the Line. The British had 25 ships of the Line while the French and Spanish had 33 ships between them 25 French and 15 Spanish not counting the frigates and smaller craft used. It will be interesting if only a few of these ships will be used or we will be able to play out the entire battle as it...

casualties

My understanding of warfare at the time was that "annhilating" your enemies army didn't mean killing 19 out of 20 men. Units would rout with fewer than 70% casualties... I'm wondering if this will be reflected given that armies are so precious now *see nzgamer.com interview*.

No Imperial Edition in the US?

I saw the newest pre-order news on the website and I plan to order a box copy of imperial edition, however, i only saw a "limited edition" on the US site but no imperial edition, does that mean there is no imperial edition sell in the US?

PS. the game content of the limited edition is kind of similar to the imperial edition, however, it seems that the box art and the accessories that come with it is not that attactive compare to the imperial edition

Unique units - they dont have to be elite... do they?

I may be singing a solo chorus here but I felt it important to say I never felt that unique units have to be 'better' than normal units. I am very happy to see unit diversity and a few different uniforms among my force.

Take the British army as an example. Some of the Irish regiments had a terrible reputation; other had a very good one. Of course this being the naure of things. Perfectly understandably many of the soldiers where less than enthusiastic about fighting for...

I was wondering, Say you are France and you own the Netherlands do you think that you will be able to Recruit historical units from the Netherlands such as The Regiment of Red Lancers that was formed from three Dutch troops:
Garde du Corps (former Guard Cuirassiers)
Guard Hussar Regiment
3th Hussar Regiment

.Or do you guys think that you will only be able to recruit generic French troops from these areas

Fife and Drum Marches for Regiments

I know this is probably a long shot, but one of the most integral parts of any combat force during the 18th and 19th centuries was the Fife and Drum Corps that each regiment marched into combat with. And I am curious if this would be included for the infantry regiments. Not only was this vital it was a comfort for soldiers to hear something familiar that would keep them in line, in time, and in a somewhat more combat ready state. Dear CA

Really, what I want I have stated in the title. In Empire, you can't set the wind direction to random! This is rather annoying, as if you know what direction the wind is facing you can't adapt to it, making the battle a little predictable. Also, att the moment the default wind (Northerly, I think) is set dead against you! I know your coming to the end of Napoleon now, and you may have already done this but please make it a feature!

I see gamestop and Amazon, and it also looks like we don't get the Imperial edition but rather the limited edition, which seems to come with the units but not the map and book. Oh well.. Also if anyone else has seen this do you know what kind of unit you get for pre-ordering from Game Stop?

In the napoleon total war story mode video, there are only 19 slots for units...is it going to chane for the full game?also, mayby they generals will be compulsory for armies.as this way there would only be 18 unit slots which is a more....likely number than 19.what are your thoughts guys?

I saw in a video that there is a "story mode" where you have 3 separate campaigns, but will there be-

1. A grand campaign (the whole map, not just parts of it)?
2. Multiplayer story mode?
3. Multiplayer Grand Campaign?
