Medieval: Total War

Cant control a unit

Hi I just brought this game and it seem like the game crash on the battle field. I left click on the battle field to move my soldier, how ever they not moving they changing position instred and when I move my sceen the soldier seem to dissapear from the battle field. any clue of what happen? Did I need to change any setting?

(The laptop work with everyother total war game except this one plz help)

That pretty much explains it. If I right click on anything on the campaign map then the game crashes and windows informs me it stopped working and will let me know if a solution is found My DxDiag is

"Debugger running" alert when starting MTW

Hi,

After being slightly knocked out by Empire Total War(!) and despite the occasional CTD, I bought MTW gold (PC Gamer).
It installs ok, but when I try to run it I get the "Debugger running - please close it down and restart" alert
My system is XP service pack3 with NVidia 8600GTS 512mb

Changing the compatability level doesn't help.

Any ideas?

Installation Issues

I recently bought the M:TW Battle Collection, but whenever I press the "Install Medieval - Total War" button nothing happens. In Windows Task Manager, "Medieval - Total War Launcher" appears, but nothing replaces it after I press the install button. I've followed all the directions in the Help button to no effect, cleaned the disc, the CD drive, etc. Nothing works. This is my first time installing MTW on this computer. Other CD's work, and I can't...

It is such a pain the ass. I have cleared most of the historical campaign missions but this one....I haven't cleared this battle in 2 years. My units have no valour at all and i thought the halberdiers are effective against cavalry? Anyone knows how to beat the English?

i am playing as the english and have taken all of the british isles and some of the french coast but i am blocked in by the germans and the french

i am allies with the germans and at war with the french but the pope doesent want me to attack the french for 10 years. i have a small army in each province that i own outside the british isles. i want to expand my empire

what is the best thing to do?

MTW Gold Edition issues with GeForce 9700

Please forgive me if this has been posted before, but I have a major problem with MTW Gold Edition running on the 8xxx and 9xxx series GeForce Cards. My desktop had a 8800 GTS OC that ran literally every game perfectly, old or new, that I tried, however when it loaded up MTW Gold, the campaign map "chugged", and the battle map had screen tearing. I have the same problem with my laptop as well, running a 9700M GTS.
In short, the game loads w/o crashing, I can select the game...

Viking Invasion Expansion

I have a Radeon 9200 128MB APG Card... Viking used to work

The regular Total War medieval works fine, I play it all the time. But when I select Viking and then when it is taking to load it up, it quits and closes the application.

I have messed with the graphic 3D settings.

Can someone please help me. I used to be able play this game3 years ago, not sure why it isn't working anymore.

Mouse problems

Hey people,

just trying to play one of my favourite games of all times, M:TW. But after I dealt with all the videocard problems, I found that I can only send my troops to an enemy. Strangly enough when I click a spot on the map nothing happens. I tried the tutorial several times and can't get past the point where u have to move your troops to the flag. Anyone has this problem too and what should I do? Please, I really wanna play this game again.

Hello, i got Medieval total war Gold expansion and i installed it perfectly and when i start the game up, it minimizes and theres a little box saying some stuff i dont understand. When i click on it, it closes the game but if i leave it i can keep playing the game for a while. When i start new campaign i pick the period and the race but then when the loading bar finishes loading the game just closes. can somone please help me?

Hello!

I've searched many different forums and not found a solution for my problem :(

I've installed gold edition (v2.01) on my new computer and game is running but only to menu, when I'm trying to start any new game or some old saves I see game loading screen but nothing is heppening, game is not loading, no red bar loading :(

My computer is Athlon XP 4800+ and Radeon 4850 running on Win XP SP3.

I recently bought the battle Collection (Medieval TW and viking expansion), but when I try and start a campaign or tutorial, it kicks me off and a little box shows up saying it stopped working. I run vista and tried going into properties to try and run it with other windows like xp or 2000 but still nothing. My computer is only a year or 2 old so its not like I'm trying to run it on an old peice of *@*%. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there Creative Assembly,
with the release of older titles from the Fallout series on STEAM recently, I've been wondering why CA has not taken the same action with older Total War titles as well. Medieval Total War and Shogun Total War are generally considered to be the best titles in the series - so it would be great if CA/SEGA allows for it to be digitally distributed on STEAM.

Please take this into consideration! Thanks!

That pretty much says it. I have a new computer, and I do not have my old one anymore. I can install both MTW and VI, and I can choose the time period/faction. BUT, when I click begin, the game crashes, and I get an error generated from the System32/mscat.dll saying it will not run on windows, and to re-install the original version. ????

MTW and Vista?

I played MTW a couple years back and really enjoyed it until my computer broke. Having no way to play it, I gave the game to a friend of mine. I've now gotten a new computer that runs Windows Vista, and I'd like to get another copy of MTW, but I've heard of it having troubles running on Vista and I was wondering if anyone could confirm/deny this for me. Problems installing Medieval Total war/Viking invasion pack

I have recently bought Medieval total war+Viking Invasion pack as my old copy of MTW went missing. But when I try to install it I get an error message saying an older version is detected on my computer which needs to be removed. I have removed all related files via the Add/Remove Programs and also ran a search to find any files and programs related to medieval total war and removed via a file shredder but still have the same problem. Cam anyone help?
