Shogun Total War: Gold Edition problem.

I recently decided to play S:TW after having not played it for well, ages. However after installing the game any time I try to run the game it instantly comes up with the error message "Shog_CPP has stopped working". My computer exceeds the requirements for the game, and all my drivers are up to date. I am on vista which I am assuming is likely the problem as it has been far too often with other games. Any help would be greatly appreciated in resolving this issue.

Probably, like most, my first exposure to the total war series was Shogun. I have played TWs' since then because of shogun. (excluding Alexander, something kept me away from that, I think reviews at the time were telling me it wasn't that great). Loved Medieval, the expansion, Rome, medieval II and its expansion and recently Empire. However, none of these really compared to Shoguns unique setting and style of play. As a long time player of STW, I figured that it could only get more enjoyable now that I have put together another computer....that isn't the case. I have found that I have a problem lately, one that it seems is related to DirectX I'm not exactly sure what to do so any help is kindly appreciated....I would love to be able to enjoy this game again.....in any case....on to the show.....

Mouse issues controling Army

So after losing my cd key I just bought and downloaded gold edition for my new computer. I initailly had many iisues with the mouse scrolling and was able to fix those by selecting the mouse software mode.

However that has not effected my inability to control an army (or the first tutorial). Left clicks are not able to order tropps or reposistion them--although i can use it to reposition the camera or toggle buttons--but I cannot order troops.

any way my problem.

well i have had the game for a long while but have only recently had the major urge to play it again :)

i put the disc in and selectred install and go through the options but when i get to were i says 'install' instead of next nothing happens.

i check my task manager and there is a setup *32 but nothing is really happening

please help...

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Intel Celeron, XP Pro. With the Intel 4 series chipset drivers.

The game does not allow me to enable any of the following options: mouselook, mousemove or map editor.

I'm guessing that it's a video issue, but for the life of me I can't solve it.

Any suggestions would be welcome because using the keyboard to move the camera is unbelievably difficult in the heat of battle.

Is there a guide to how I can get this going? I have installed Shogun onto 2 PC's, both running XP, and bothg on the same LAN using a Router/ADSL modem. I go into 'Multiplayer' Option, then choose LAN game and setup as host. Then when I go onto the other PC, I can't 'Join' a game as there are no games available. I tend to think that I am not setting up the host correctly, but that's just a guess. Can anyone help me with this please?

Ok so first of i think this game is AWSOME but i havent played it in a while i used to play it on a comp that ran XP but now i want to run it on my Vista comp and i t installs (off the one disc im not to to sure if thats ok or not ) but when i click finish in-order to launch the game it just stops and then a message tells me that Shog_CPP has stopped and that windows will notify me when they have a solution i have tried a patch but im not sure which one sorry i have wiped it all off my comp...

I don't know what version of DirectX I have, but I imagine it's the latest.

I am Imagawa and finished off shimazu a long time ago. Then from out of the blue, his off board son reappears in 5 of my provinves with 2000 men !!!

What triggers this, how often can I expext it and can it be avoided ??

Use our starting map and battles, but when you go to a province map you get a build scenario similar to Grand Ages Rome. You build up an entire city to get gold and citizens to produce a maximum number of troops for that province, also troop type as well. That way city building would mean something and become a fulfilling part of the game, not just a punch out as it is now.
Then you would have great battles AND GREAT city building !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does my game crash my computer?

I just found my Shogun ttw game from a few years ago and i really wanted to play it again, but for some reason the game freezes my computer after i hit end turn for the 3rd time. i have tried to see if it does it everytime and yes it does. i don't know what to do i can only play for 2 min before it freezes and the only way to get back to the computer desktop is to completely power off my computer then turn it back on. i have no idea what the problem is have the 1.12 patch and that did...

This has been going on for about 6 campaign years. I'm in mori territory. I have a 3 province front and several provinces in my rear.I get my loyalty up to the 120% range. I have no troops but 1 shinobi in each province. Everything is cool then I have a rush in the same turn of rebellions driving my loyalty to 5 to 30% in all the provinces there. Thier can't be shonibi in all the provinces surely cause I got mine there. I'm on easy level and it's early ( year 10) in the game....
