Loading the game up

Hey, i meet the reccomended requirements and i run vista. I loaded up Medieval 2 TW and i ran a game fine, later on the screen was fuzzy and so where the main menue titles and speeches from the loading sections, i got to a game saying 'start dep___ment' (it fuzzed up the letters) and then screen went black and shut my pc down.

I have updated everything running on ATI radeon 2100 1 GB graphic card. I reinstalled game and added expansion pack but had same problem first time,...

PC crashes & turns off

I have a problem where the game randomly crashes and the pc shuts down when playing the game, either total war or kingdoms. I updated to patch 1.5 but when I try to play kingdoms it says it can't find the gold disk. My pc is well upto the job of playing the game but my patience isn't if this keeps up. I have the latest grahics drivers and I'm wondering about rolling back to a previous version, any help appreciated.

Kingdoms Crash When Loading Siege Battle

Whenever I load a Kingdoms siege battle I hear the token sound for when an error pops up my screen goes black and the only thing I see is the revolving hourglass...the only way I can exit out of the game is by hitting Escape

Everything else works fine...normal battles, medieval 2 total war works fine as well. Only when trying to play Kingdoms siege battles does this error happen...so far its only happened during the Crusades campaign as I have not played sieges in any of the other...

Crashing on opening maps

M2TW has worked before on this computer, I had a while out, then decided to go play it again. Installed fine, can open it fine, but when I open any actual map or game (for example a campaign) my PC restarts before the adviser even finishes speaking.

There is a problem screen (that lasts barely a couple of seconds) as it restarts that says:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Version of MT2TW Gold

So I install Medieval II Total War Gold and for the main game, the executable is V1.1.0.0, the options when I load the game say 1.02, but if I try to install patch 1.03, it says that 1.03 can't be installed (I believe since the game is already updated). Is this a bad installation or is this normal? The game has huge problems loading saved games. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the installation. Kingdoms works great, but the main game not so much.

Kingdoms issues

I tried uninstalling Kingdoms so that I could reinstall it to get a mod working later. As there is no program for uninstalling I deleted the SEGA folder instead. Then when I tried to reinstall Kingdoms it said this;

So I clicked install and I got this;

Thinking it maybe still was installed I tried...

Have never been able to play M2TW

I have tried palying this game right out of the box; with patch 1.2; with patch 1.3 and the same thing happens every time. I get into the game, go to Single Player, choose who I am going to play as and click play. It begins loading Summer 1080 AD and once it finishes loading it just starts loading that screen again and again. I have tried looking at all sorts of forums but i haven't found a solution yet.

Please help me.

setup runs fine..
install options etc...
ready..go...

does the first few files, temp or whatnot, gets to medieval2.exe and just hangs tried it 3 times

used the disks before, and not scratched, just seems to be that.

is it a known prob with win7 ? or 64bit stuff ? or is there some trick to it

any help gratefully received:)

i just got this game today brand spankin new, ive installed everything and such, when i first click on it it brings up some kind of script error, not sure what it means, then when i go to the toturial it takes like 10 min to load, and when it does its toslow to be enjoyable, is there anything else i could do, or get my money back and buy oblivion

and now my kingdom disk wont show, it loaded fine,butwhen i put it back in its not reconizing it

How can I update M2TW and M2TWK if I bought the trymedia systems version? I tried to install the patches and it says it's not compatible with my version of the game.

Multiplayer error

The problem is for medieval 2. Every time I try to connect to the multiplayer, It claims that my cd key is not valid. I bought the game, the code lets the game run, so why does it say I cant play on multiplayer?
Any help would be good.

possible problems are that I made it so that campaign games were 6 months a turn instead of 2 years. That is the only modding I've done. I really dont want to reinstall.

Frame Rate

I bought medieval II about a year ago and everything worked fine. I stopped playin it for a little bit and i recently tried to play it again and now the frame rate is so slow in battles that i cant even play them...all of my other games work fine and i turned the graphics to there lowest setting and nothing has worked.

Ok so i installed this game but my computer was screwing up so i uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it but then it showed up as an error that packs/data3 is missing or currently unavailable. Then after a few more tries at installing it, it finally past that and is now missing packs/data4 but won't go any further. if anyone can help it will be much appreciated

so i have kingdoms installed but i have lost disk 1. but have 2. anyways my question is what is the kingdoms.exe. i can run each of the individual campaings fine but the .exe crashes. what is it exactly. does it offer sumthing different besides all of the individual campaigns. aka britania teutonic etc.

cannot determine language

when i try to re-instal ME2, it immeadeatly pops up and says it cant determine the language.... how do i fix this.

im honestly disappointed with whoever made this game... RTW and ME2 USED to work great. now i cant even get ME2 to re-instal after i had 6 months of it saying "a unknown error occured" and exiting out. this was my favorite game, and it got killed for me.

but anyways how do i fix this?

Problem with Game Installation

Recently installed game on new computer but unable to load campaign games or scenarios. They don't even show up to select a scenario. I'm using windows XP with service pack 3 on intel Core 2 duo 2.8 GHz speed with 2GB memory using ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics card.

Please help.

No EAX with kingdoms

I have just reinstalled MTW2 plus the Kingdoms expansion.

The problem i have is that in the audio options screen it will not allow me to select any EAX setting saying it is not supported by mt hardware.Consequently i'am currently stuck with miles 2D.

I had no problem selecting this before with windows XP so im guessing the problem is caused by vista64.

I'am using a creative XFI titanium fatality card with vista64.

Any help would be much...

Is there a way to make m2tw portable, or portable enough to not require an installation?

The game has become a classic to me and I want to be able to carry it with me across computers, like you might carry a set of chess or a bacgammon box. I'm also thinking for the future. The game can be a real pain to install, especially if you have the kingdom expansion. I like to play it every christmas holiday, when I'm back home visiting my parents. It would be great to...
