Problems with running Rome TW under vista

Hi, hope you can all help,

I've bought a new PC - (Intel Quad core Q8200, 3GB RAM, Radeon HD4670, Vista Home Premium) and installed RTW on this virgin

I've set up several user accouts for the family. Admin (admin), Me (Admin), Wife (user), games (user) - for the kids, guest account is off.

I installed RTW in Me and it works 100% ok, in any other a/c no good (Rome Total War has encountered an error and must close - Really helpful!!!). I've tried...

I have searched to see if there is an answer with no luck.
My new graphics card has an HDMI Audio output which I use to connect to my Onkyo reciever. Sound from WMP etc works OK.

When I try and output Rome there is silence, if I look in `Rome Audio options` the only one available is the `Miles` one unless I use my SB card outputting to a `Cambridge soundworks 4.1` then everything works OK. All the others show drivers not loaded, this doesn`t surprise me as I have set the HDMI...

speedy problem

Hi! I have a problem while playing rtw version 1.5 . When I'm in the campain map or in the battle field, my game is getting suddently speedy I would say like 30 minutes after I start playing. So the soldiers are doing like 15 foots in 1 sec. It's almost like if it was lagging, but speedy instead of slowly. Thanks for your help!

ok, I wanted to play as the spanish for a change, so I modded my descr_strat file. I've done it tons of times before, no big deal. This install has been around a while, I just hadn't played anything other than BI on it, so I decided on this change. When I click any faction other than the regularly playable or unlockable factions, my game crashes. Spain, Dacia, Thrace, etc... all the ones I want to play, I can't. File location for RTW saves on Gold Edition - Solution for Vista virtual store

I recently made the transition over to a new hard drive. I had to reinstall the Gold edition of Rome on Vista.. Well, I can find the correct location for "BI" saves by going to the file location. However, there is no apparent location for the original RomeTW save location. I have the files, but I have no where to put them. I've even gone into the RomeTW game, saved a game, and then tried to find it via search and file location: To no avail.

Hi have some Problems to install my Rome Total War on my PC. I use XP Prof 64bit. Everytime i want to install the Game, the Installer tells me, that the OS is not supported...

I just recently bought the game, and when i first installed it, and opened the game, it said "Rome: Total War failed to find DirectX 9,which is required for the game to run. Please re-install DirectX."
I did re-install the game and directX, still no luck, any tips?

Problem with Rome Gold, crash loading battle maps - Solution update drivers

I have some Problems with Rome Total War Gold.

After installing the game it crushed ervery time i wanted to switch to the Battle mode.
Then I updated my grafik card drivers. Now it runs in the Battle Mode but very very very slow!!

I really need some help!

Hi all... I thought to install RTW (Gold Edition), but there was an problem! I Select the language for Install and then I get the following error messenge :
"An error (-5006 : 0x8000ffff) has occurred while running the setup.

Cannot uninstall properly (deleting some files does not work) - Solution reboot computer

Hey, does anyone know whats wrong with my rome total war file??? I can't uninstall the game properly and i can't delete 5 specific files. They're in the Miles folder. i half unistalled the game, but when i get to a certain point it says "acess is denied check the disk is not write protected or somethin, but i havent got a disc in. i think it's something to do with all the mods i've tried because it worked fine before.

Available resolutions

I'm trying to run RTW at 1600x1200, but the list of available resolutions tops out at 1280x960 (not even 1280x1024). How can I select a resolution not on the list? My dxdiag output is below.

Hello, i installed RTW(fresh install) fired it up once played it for a minute or two then went to download the patchs, it said i required 1.3 for 1.5 but getting 1.3 is a nightmare. I keep having this problem for EVERY 1.3 patch download from multiple sites, heres a picture. Heres what the Error says, I've tryed installing 1.1 and 1.2 and those work, so does 1.5 they all start up expect 1.3. How frusterating.
