        <![CDATA[ Whats up with this .NET 1.1 install ?? I already had 1.1 on my PC and the latest version of Direct X 9c from the Microsoft website but the patch still insists
on installing both without my prior permission. I dislike any software that changes the way I interact with my PC without my prior permission. Now when I start
up the PC I have to login as myself before I can use the PC whereas before i was just taken straight to the desktop !! Not impressed CA !!   Game works fine though with the patch  ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ The .net framework is a DEVELOPERS tool, it&#39;s a bunch of runtime dll&#39;s that software developers are supposed to redistribute with their apps if they
use them, eg newer runtime libraries for visual c++ (which is why you are reading this thread in the first place).

Seems that CA/Sega have updated the launcher to a newer version of c++, and are too technically inept to understand the concept of &#39;redistributable
dlls&#39; and so just set the damm thing to install the whole... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Not sure if it has a major effect on M2TW but I installed it when it came out and my ATI Catalyst Control Center program, which runs on .NET, improved
significantly from starting up faster to taking up less system reasources.

I would guess that most people having issues with the new patch and .NET do not have all the patches and update for it. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Correct, it launches the installer, but like DirectX, if it finds that the version already exists on your system, it leaves it alone. Or at least it should.
Even if it installed over top of itself, it shouldn&#39;t matter much.

			<description><![CDATA[ If you are good boys and girls, then you should have all the updates for .NET already installed. I have 3.0. Anyone who uses the ATI drivers for graphics is
already familiar with .NET as that is what the interface is.

I have zero problems with the launcher and I have all the .NET updates installed. 3.0 is fairly quick. 1.1 is the minimum required for the launcher. ]]></description>
