official release : 4th of march - via steam even one day earlier

does anyone know why amazon sent me an email today in which they say that the date of delivery has changed to march the 4th ??

that would be 2 days earlier... not much but i cant wait to play this game :D

LOL, I never thought the problem was with them trying to release on premier. I believe the biggest problem is the whole idea of a movie-related game. Limited story and usually mediocre (at best) controls.

My reaction:

1. I cry, WHYYYY delay, damn capaign, no damn polishing! I NEEED THIS! :*(
2. I realise that theyre adding a mp campaign that might be verry fun to play with other TW maniac friends, DAYS of extended fun.
3. I smile when i understand that polishing is a realy good thing, making the game a more rigid, less bugged and more smore enjoyable.

LOL, I mean, I really don't care too much, I think it would be too long to try to do a multiplayer campaign. But many other people have been clamoring for a multiplayer campaign since Total War started.

vince, read the first post. The game was delayed so they could add multiplayer campaign, and just "polish" the game (fixing bugs).

The dvd cases are out on display in game and they are saying 4th march release.

No, the Feb 6 date was from an earlier news release that never got revised. If you look at the Steam Store, it will say that Empire:Total War is available March 2009 (does not give exact date because that has not been released yet).

Is this still the case? I am wanting to order this through steam if we can get it on the 4th of Feb(as the pre-order says). I dont know if this is true or not but I would buy the online version if we can get it 5 or 6 weeks earlier. I would write them but cant find a place to do so.
