Anything else in you bag o' tricks, Mimesaka? | #2 | ||
|
It seems Mimesaka knows alot when it comes to cheat
codes. I learned of the .conan. one from him (you, if
you're reading, and thanks) but is there something with a
bit more...flare? More money's cool. Playing as rebels is
a fun notion too. But could there be something maybe
along the lines as a hidden historical battle? or maybe a
super-high-honour-ninja from the beggining of a campaign?

I haven't tried the .muchkaoku. yet (I will
though),
but it seems (and for sure the .conan. code) that you just need to type it during a game/campaign. I think the two periods open and close the cheat-code entry respectively. --Mingjun |

Cheats are dishonorable, folks. Cheats will not get
you anywhere except the loss of skill in the art of
war.

I agree with Ronin Master on that one. I don't give
out cheats on the whole (except for the rebel cheats),
but when you are the rebels you can't get income so the
muchkoku cheat is reasonable to be used in that case,
although you wouldn't spend all of it, just the amount
you would have gotten if you were able to get an income
properly. I also sometimes use the .matteosartori. cheat
at a certain point in the campaign to see if there is
enough opposition left to make it worthwhile to finish
it. They usually take the fun out of the game though
imo.

I agree cheats suck, but just wanted to try a game
as the rebels... i hate them too, but cheating a bit once
a month does not hurt
And i mean in not serious campaigns, will never use them in a real campaign like the one im playing atm |

I used rebel cheats before, first, kill Oda daimyo,
that gets you all the lands. Then kill the rest of the
daimyo and Japan will be under your hand. Just the
daimyos, nothing else. And you have the warrior monks
from the starting point.

cheating depends | #10 | ||
|
I agree with, as well as disagree, with the
afore-mentioned views of the cheats in STW. I agree that
they can very well ruin a game that would otherwise be
very challenging. However, I do believe that they have
their respective usefulness toward gaming enjoyment as
well (hopefully).
Being a Uni-student, there isn't nearly enough time to play a good game of Shogun. Sure, I may be able to fit in a few historical battles now and then, but a good full-on campaign is almost out of the question. The only cheats I'm aware of are the Ronin and Koku cheats. These two don't further my enjoyment of the game much at all. Nor are they appealing. I was hoping the koku cheat would give me maybe around 2000 koku and that the code wouldn't be usable after once entered. This cheat is indeed bullocks. The Ronin cheat? A good sort of STW-parlor trick to show friends, but hardly worth employing. A bit of consolidation, Daimyo-chasing and you've go yourself a country of rebels. The type of cheat I would like would be something to flavour up a half an hour's worth of campaigning. When I play, I like to think of it as a story. That is, characters provoking attacks due to found espionage (FUN ninja cheat perhaps), or direct religious bouts (FUN Christian cheat). Of course these things are of the very sort the game is/was advertised with. I know there's a savegame option so as to continue a campaign, but 30min a pop is hardly enough time to become fully enthralled with possible strategy, let alone be enough time to commit to memory of what I was even thinking during the last game. This mere fact is what brought me to these forums. Talking about the game rather than playing it. (sad times) So bottom line, If any of you know of any FUN cheats, as apposed to those that empower a player with game-god-power, I emplore of you to share. It is in this regard that I agree that there is dissatisfaction that may come from cheats, yet support the sharing of those "cheats" which could potentially save a gamers life.(humor) --Mingjun |

cheats are also good when you are only left with
your whole standing army while you'sre suffering from
tons of negative kokus.

some of them dont work, thats been known for years,
(prototype, booyakasha, spylookahead) we suspect those will only work if you use a command line switch when loading... the question is which switch (and who can really be bothered to find out) B. |
