Posts: 83 01/14/09 22:32:02	Tags : None never tried running on vista so cant compare but tonight i installed windows 7 x64.the speed is lightening fast almost too fast cursor keys make map zoom around.end of turn is like a second or 2(end of turn is what killed the game for me in he past),usually after 45 turns or so it takes ages.only got so far in will see what its like after a 100 or so turns but looking promising.

Posts: 350 01/15/09 03:19:34	don't expect windows 7 to be good. It's only a commercial move after their failure: Windows Vista. People don't need to get another windows as XP is fine, but that's the madness of people, it should be newer, newer and newer. So don't expect too much of W7 ;-) edit: besides heavy graphical extras of course what will slow down your pc ^^

Posts: 20 01/15/09 07:00:33	Ok, so either I can't read anymore....but isn't he saying he's actually tried it? Actually it could very well be true what he's saying, since from what I've heard Windows 7 is going to be a lot lighter then Vista AND XP.

Posts: 83 01/16/09 09:03:32	xp is about 300mb,vista 900 and windows 7 is about 500,so 7 is better for systems with 2gb ram,warhead takes a massive hit on my system just like on vista but everything else is fine.i think 7 uses dual cores better hence improving the speed as i know on xp by turn 50 the game is completely bogged down. if you want to try windows 7 ms are giving out free keys and downloads that will last till august. http://www.microsoft.com/...dows-7/beta-download.aspx

Posts: 412 01/17/09 10:53:23	We've been messing around with Windows 7 beta at work, and it does seem to be work a lot smoother. We were thinking it utilizes the multi-core processors more efficiently like Total War 2 was saying.
