Posts: 6 03/25/09 00:53:27	I was hoping this wasn't going to be the case, as Medieval 2 got released the same way, and I waited months and months for patches. Luckily I didn't buy Empire yet, tho I wanted to. Buy a game that release with bugs that delete your save games? in a game that can take hundreds of hours? no.. and the broken AI that lets you mass slaughter enemies with no challenge if the bugs can be addressed.. .and I mean REALLY addressed, I'll pick up it up. BUT after Med2 and now Empire, I'm holding off picking up a Total War game until I know how it plays, as much as I love the series, it needs to learn how to deliver.

The simple fact is that if they can take my money now then I want to play now. There is no product I can think of where you buy it and they tell you that you cant use it until 6 months from now. As consumers we need to get out of the mindset that non working computer products are the normand we should accept it. In the future I am sure we will all be saying "Hey do you remember when we bought games and they wouldnt work right at first years ago? Man i cant believe we were cool with that!?"

I read somewhere that if you used official criteria for a 3rd world country then America would be classed as a 3rd world country due to its levels of poverty, low education, illness and disease, morals, gap between rich and poor, animation, health service etc etc. Also the UK could be classified as a 3rd world country..... but as far as I am concerned its also the 1st, 2nd and 4th so all of you nancys stop your whining and THANK CA England that you get to play a game from this beautiful country.... go back and play 3rd world games like Halo and WoW if you don't like it.

Fine, stop coming by the forums, see ya! 2. We kind of expected the game to be relatively bug free, with it being delayed at least 3 months and well, we bought a game, not a beta. 3. We read the press reviews, but apparently, they spend something like 5 hours on a game before rating it 9.5/10... figures. 4. Why charge 40 euro in the stores and 50 euros on steam, when you're cutting out the middlehand, the retail stores. 5. Holy #+*$, this forum is not about sharing opinions? Then we might as well close it down... 6. Yeah you might as well stop there, go do whatever floats your boat instead.

So we should allow gaming companies to release unfinished games because "hey that is how it is? Seriously would you buy a car that was not finished, it was missing the transmission and all 4 wheels and is a brand new car? You sir are the kind of people the ruin it for the rest of us, you are willing to accept unfinished games. I am sorry but I demand a finish product when I spend my money. I am sorry you are willing to except unfinished products. The sooner the gaming community stands up to these game companies that think it is okay to released unfinished games, the sooner we will be able to expect better products upon release.

Posts: 253 03/25/09 09:32:34	It's so strange that normally I always have problems with games, but Empire works fine for me, yes once it kept crashing in between turns on a campaign but apart from that it's only crashed once. It can't be an intrinsic c*ck up of the game code if it works on some machines but doesn't on a lot, its very odd.. but then computers are extremely temperamental

Reporting of bugs is really important or else lots of bugs wouldn't become known to CA. But the way many people "report" these bugs is just stupid. It's also important to complain about things you don't like but these complaints need to be civilized and not like this "Zomg this game sux and every1 who likes it is stupid!". But it's also pointless to talk about this game like it's perfect and have no important bugs. And finally when someone makes a post that you don't agree with you shouldn't flame him/her and make rude comments.

Because as paying customers, they have the right to expect a finished product. A released game means its version 1.0, out of beta stage which means a working product. It does not mean something that will work properly in a few months, thats beta. Why didnt you wait for previews by the customers and not the notifiers and saw some YouTube videos? This is good advice, however if everyone took it, the game wouldn't be bought, which is a good thing in this case. People should take this advice but if they don't, its still not their fault. No fault lies with the consumer if they buy a game on the day of release and is dissatisfied by the amount of bugs.
