The update looks good, but still no improvement on the AI sea invasions? Will we ever see this happenng? It happened in MTW2 so why not in this game?

Sounds nice so far but one question: I didn't read anything about the announced fix of the battle AI melee bug in the patch notes. So, is the battle AI
fixed in patch 1.3? Did I just fail to see the note about it or did you forget to add the note about it in the blog? Or will this fix not be included the
upcoming patch?

Sorry, I understand hte list posted in the blog are the "major" updates but just to clarify... does:
- Several crash bug fixes in saves, movement, agents and logic. and - Fixed various movement extent crashes. mean that A) (Much - hopefully) [of] our naval crash problems have been fixed? Sometimes, you don't even have to move a fleet for the game to crash - just clicking on it is enough to do the trick. and B) Does "crash fixes" also account for the extreme slowdowns that sometimes lead to crashes and sometimes not? I recall a CA employee addressing some of the naval unit issues where players would complain about the 1st Rate being the buggiest unit on the campaign map but the devs thought the Brig should be the buggiest under their calculations. I personally have not used the Brig very much so I dunno which is more accurate but the bottom line is, the navy has been kind of a problem for some on the campaign map that playing certain factions like Britain is not possible. Also, some of the land armies and cities have some immense loading times after you click on them. There's nothing on the slowdowns on the blog but hopefully the "multi-threading" (whatever that means for us non-computer types) means some more speed on the campaign map. All in all, very pleased with what CA is addressing this time around. |

The patch notes seem to have missed quite a few of the things mentioned in the Daily Update.
Anyway, it seems this game is finally at a stage where I'll buy it. Glad to see at least one publisher/developer has realized that you can't just release a game and then take the cash and run, you need to support it as well. |

Thanks for the patch preview.
Seems like a long list, great...mmh...thinking about that 60 people worked for it a good month...*cough*..i bet 30 of them are just for PR (which would explain a lot
As already mentioned by others here, i miss three main gamebreaking issues i want to point out (again): - naval AI troop transport capability to be more frequent - AI capability to cross-travel (and conquer) theatres (of course this is based on functional "naval AI") - AI capability to attack occupied trade nodes - battle AI (you should know about by now) oops...these are four i realize and...well...ok i stop here now and wait what the patch actually really fixes or contributes and what not. But to be honest....i have little hope this patch will bring E:TW to its full brilliance...
On the other hand there actually are many points in the patch preview i am really looking forward to....so...as i said...there is (a little) hope

yes! My favorite factions(spain, Prussia and UP) are getting bucketloads of new units.
But I'm very happy that ammo has increased and russian line infantry are getting a look at, Imo they should have more numbers and better melee abilities. Also it's good that artillery has been fixed accordingly. But....the main thing I'm happy about the most is that spain is getting a entire reskin. Goodbye %%#+ yellow, hello white! |
