Posts: 14 Nov 6 05 4:22 AM	Tags : None 3.1 installer says Rome:Total War isn't found on my pc it isn't located on my main HD i had to uninstall it and reinstall it on my second because it was taking too much space anyway.. i install rome and then run 3.1 patch and after i accept and click next it says There was no prior installation of Rome:Total War found on this computer. Posts: 14 Nov 6 05 6:43 AM	ok i did everything there and it does the same exact thing i put CD in. autorun pops up. i click install. demoshield runs. it says preparing to install. it pops up and say "are you sure you want to remove rome:total war and all of its components" i click yes. i click accept then click next and then i get an error saying "no prior install of rome:total war is detected, the installation will now terminate" i click ok it rolls back and im back at the autorun.

Posts: 7558 Nov 6 05 7:04 AM Administrator	Did you remove the RomeTW.ini and registry keys in the instructions? Rename these folders (so not to delete them) : C:\Program Files\common files\InstallShield C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (You must enable 'View Hidden files and Folders' in Control Panel/Folder options to see these folders.

Posts: 14 Nov 6 05 7:44 AM	installed and working fine Thanks everyone now i can finally play the mutiplayer campaign! am i suposed to change the renames back to the origonal now? I guess i spoke too soon on run of exe the game opens and before the movie i get this error: Error: Filename doesn't exist : data/animations/ballista/ballista_idle.CAS

Posts: 14 Nov 6 05 8:46 AM	fixed that by manually moving the Engine folder from disc 3 to the animations folder on my HD. now im getting a file doesn't exist for the folder Models_Buildings and i don't find that on any of the CD's

Posts: 14 Nov 6 05 8:50 AM	fixed that by moving the Engine folder on disc 3 over to the animations folder on my HD. now i am getting /--------------------------- Rome: Total War --------------------------- Error: Filename doesn't exist : data/models_building/spot_fx/spot_fx_roman_town_gate.CAS --------------------------- OK --------------------------- and i can't seem to find models_building folder anywhere on the CD's sorry for double post it said page cannot be displayed on the first post so i thought it didn't go through

Posts: 7558 Nov 6 05 10:25 AM Administrator	You need to copy the each ENTIRE cd into a folder and then run the setup.exe, most of the files should be in compressived archives.
