The answer is:u will not play Medieval2 with your bro using only 1 PC!!!U have to paly lan 1v1 using two PC's.Or using your PC to play Internt with other
opponents. But keep it in your mind that there doesnt exist such game to make turns and wait your opponents turn,u have to play with your opponent in real
time...

There are several versions of multiplayer campaigns. One of the more popular versions I have seen on the GeneralsCollective (link is in my profile) is played
by each player in turn, and the saved game then sent via email to the next player. Battles are fought by autoresolve. The drawback is that you actually have to
trust all players to play fair (ie no cheat codes etc.). Doing this version of the multiplayer campaign actually involves installing a small program on your
computer.
There are a variety of other versions out there. I think Stig regularly plays in one of them, iirc. If you want to play battles against your brother, you have to have two computers. |

Shire and I play in our "clans" MP campaigns, take a look. Go to the MP forum, The Forumite Clan Thread and follow the link in there.

I agree with gamedude. They can have a hotseat meaning on the same comp because 1. you can take turns, 2.you can fight the AI. and 3. Basicly you would just
auto resolve human vs. human battles. In Star Wars; Empires at war when playing the campaign u faught each other. BUT you cant fight the rebel(pirate) faction.
It auto resolved them. so what is stoping MTW from making it so Human vs. Human battles are auto resolved. and why would u want to go to war with your human
next to you anyway? and if you both attack the same person at the same time you can easily control their men or set one to AI control. Pluse I dont think they
would have called it Hotseat if it was a lan type thing they would have used the term LAN lol. But i could be wrong idk we will see lol

im ok with auto resolve if it must be that way...
obviously player vs computer match ups have to be auto resolved because the 2nd player cannot interact, and the also there is a factor of time over the length of the game. player vs player would be auto resolve, technically as i understand it this also makes sense, because it is not a 2 player exclusive game, if you are using the work around then 2+ player games are possible. i cant see why CA is limiting the game in this way, ah well ill just stick with Civ4 and play M2TW multiplayer skirms every once in awhile... there is not enough interest in the potential of the game to buy teh expansion, or any other title in the series until the multiplayer can at least match Civ4. another thing, you CANNOT in this game play a mix of live players and AI in skirmish... wtf? isnt this option like standard in any RTS or RTT? |
