Posts: 4898 04/04/07 09:58:48 Administrator	Tags : campaign, kingdoms, crusades, americas Well, the new Kingdoms expansion pack has been announced, and i'm sure most total war fans are thrilled to see a very diverse and interesting addition to the original game. I was wondering, what factions are people most looking forward to. Personally, I like the look of the Teutonic Knights. Their infantry look awesome! Those horned helmets are just so cool! I can't wait to devestate northern europe with them. So what other teams are people looking forward to? Perhaps the Kingdom of Juresalem, or Ireland! (Ok maybe not Ireland ). If you are not sure what the new factions will be, check out www.totalwar.com and follow the links till you get to the Kingdoms information. Remember, not all of the factions are new, (England or Spain for exanple), so try and find a new faction you like the sound of. This is doing of those [expletive deleted] Uzbekistan! To be honest, the Teutonic Knights are probably the faction I am probably least excited about. I'm anxious to see the new-and-improved Byzantine line-up and the Native American factions. The first campaign I'll probably try out is the Crusades.

Posts: 285 04/04/07 11:38:53	i do like the idea od the massivly superior heavy infantry and cav of the teutonic campaign but i have to admit i fancie the crusader one more i like the look of the crusading order based armies and the byzantines wont fall behind in tech this time because i blieve the campaign doesnt reach advanced plate and gunpowder era and who knows maybe egypt will have decent infantry(starts laughing). the americas look interesting i think 4 that i'll play as the spanish 1st because i like a small start trading kingdom with superior tech and then i will play a through as a native american faction and do missions for the spanish to get zealic mounted gundower using barbarian spammer warriors lol. and as 4 the other i dunno most probs wales because from they i can quickly go to ireland and build a good economy while england and the scots fight 4 control of the north and while there armies engaged i'll strike at london. Overall i would have to say though the kingdom of jerusalem mainly because i've recently re watched kingdom of heaven

Posts: 3103 04/04/07 11:45:27	edit - I picked the Teutonic Order under the strict assumption that no matter how many armour upgrades I provide them with, they will keep their white surcoats. This goes for all "crusader" factions. Otherwise I will go with the welsh and bring about the fall of the english monarchy!

I like the idea of having a crusading faction. I found that with the main Medieval 2 campaign, the crusades were a bit far-fethced. I mean, all you have to do is get a small group of milita units, recruit some dead cheap crusader mercenaries and then trample everyone in your path with a full strength army.

You should have seen the crusades in MTW, 1000 florins + a little bribe for the pope, and off your vacum cleaner went, through euro "stealing" units from other factions actual armies and adding them to your own, and in contrast to M2TW, you were not limited to the size of a normal stack, you could add as many units as you wanted, and the crusader army could "suck in" as many catholic units as it wanted... ah yes, those were the days, if playing as the english that is
