It should work with any M2 version as long as you have the 1.2 patch installed.

I've tried this but all that happens is that the game starts up but without the moving blue images on the options screen. I would like a few things
clarified:
A: Does the bat file have to have.bat in its filename? B: Does the cfg file have to end with .cfg in its filename? C: I have Patch 1.2 installed does that have anything to do with the aforementioned problem? D: Does this editor effect the camera view in the game itself? Thanks. BTW could you please include a GUI version of the editor in a future game to simplify this for users. |

Also, bumped your old thread.
Also for points A and B make sure you don't have hidden file extensions on: http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/reply/185023/t/Hotseat-Help.html#reply-185023

So I followed every step in the tutorial right up to "you are now looking through your newly created camera". And looking is all I can do, since my
new camera simply won't move one bit. It doesn't respond to WSAD, nor to the arrow keys or anything else, but when I tab out of it into the freecam I
can move around again. I have no idea why this happens, as the very first time I took a peek at the editor, a long time ago, it did work as
it should, and I can't think of anything I've done different.
So, well... any ideas? Can't make a film with a camera that won't move, so any help is appreciated. |

Well I have read many answers... and I can see that many has same problem like me ...
Well I try to explain again mine problem ... I create a file called cin-ed.cfg with all the code written by Caliban and also I make sure to change correct path to folder "replays" so this is correct ... and I use the vanilla of MT2 so I simply comment out this line: #mod = mods\... later I create a file called cin-ed.bat with this in Medieval2.exe @cin-ed.cfg if you read all words are correctly written so Im not making any mistakes ... so mine questions is ... what Im doing wrong???? Im sure that all mine steps are very correctly .... sorry if I make a mistake writing, inglish is not mine first languaje Protearius |

I cannot get the render.bat to start my rendering.
Have created a txt file that is called render.cfg - and created all the path to cameras and the replay scene inside that cfg text file. It simply runs the game as nothing happend - Though it seems to runs it in low resolution like 800x600.. I exit after entering the main menu - by pressing the exit and yes... So I got the cineeditor to work - and made camera and saved it all - Just can't get that render.bat to work. I can post it all - but if anyone had the same problem and proberly know what is wrong - Any help is really worthy of a knight.. or somthing. |

I have many Very good suggestions - Yet it's just small details that needs adjustments - Some new concepts - that are possible within the range of PC's we have now a days :d where is such thread? (im noob-new on this board) - I like the black white scheme on this board - Like only colors around are peoples Avatars - And not so many visible Commercials..Nice |

Worst implementation of an editor I have ever seen. Maybe it's just me but having followed the guidelines my editor .bat file continually loads up the main
Medieval 2 game. I've gone round the houses trying to get it to work but no luck.
My files are all definately named correctly and contain all the right info, but now I recieve the message "Medieval has suffered a fatal error and will now close."

That sounds like a problem with your batch files. You need to double check the paths for the mod (if there is one your capturing from) and the replay files else you will get a crash when loading. The Cinematic editor isn't supposed to be a tool for the general community, it will take some knowledge of batch files and video editing to properly utilise it. Good luck! Caliban |

theres no chance of sega/activision ever placing this editor in the game itself so we can acces it in the the game options or w/e is their?? They mentioned it
in the manual book in the retail version but i woudl like to see this editor actually implemented into the system instead of us having to mod this stuff and
what have ya

Whenever I open up the editor, I can see the battle map, and the other window is minimized. It will only let me have the second window at maximized or
minimized, because ( I think ) it is below my start bar. This is very frustrating; do you know how to fix it?

Hi, I am having trouble starting the cin ed. I'm a beginner at this and really don't know much.
When i click on the batch file it just brings me to vanilla or doesn't load up at all. I really want to use the cin ed with the mod I'm using, but i don't know what is wrong. If you think you know could be wrong please I would really appreciate your help!. These are the lines i have edited in the config. [replay] play = 1 file = C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\Stainless_Steel_Mod\Replays\test.rpy [features] editor = true mod = c:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\Stainless_Steel_Mod Thanks!
