Updated
- According to Mike Simpson, there's even a possibility to have Napoleon himself in your own ranks when around the end of the century you recruit an artillery unit in Corsica. - Players can field fleets of up to 20 ships with each of about 100 men on board who will make sure there is utter chaos and explosions on board. - New agents and diplomacy traits functions are also planned, but no details are known about that yet. - One can only besiege star shaped forts... Going to watch Master & Commander now See ya gentlemen tomorrow.

Maybe you could try listening to some German music? It helped me with my vocabulary. Can't say the same with the bigger words, though. Or much of grammar
for that matter.

What exactly are star shaepd forts, or if they are literally forts in the shape of stars, why?

Something like this:
Why? Well, if an enemy army tries to assault one of the sides of a star-point, it's exposed to enfilade fire. |

Nations:As a matter of fact, Brandenburg simply means the core of the Prussian state in the Berlin-Potsdam region. There were a few Prussian enclaves within the German Empire - most notably, in Rhineland. Nevertheless, things were complicated by East Prussia, the capital city of which was Koenigsberg. Nowadays, East Prussia belongs to the Russian Federation, while Koenigsberg is called Kaliningrad. East Prussia actually WAS the Kingdom of Prussia - as some one pointed out, Frederick I was finally made King in Prussia by the Austrian Kaiser. To make a long story short, Prussia could not rely on a homogeneous territory and was severely penalized by such fragmentation. Then, I assume Prussia and Prussia-Brandenburg are exactly the same stuff - a one playable faction. But I should also reiterate that Prussia WAS NOT Germany's major power until the 1800s. A serious contender, indeed. The leading actor, no. Austria was. Not one single, solitary historian would subscribe to the notion of Austria's minor role during the XVIII century. From this angle, including the United Provinces and leaving Austria out is plain nonsense. The Dutch state was by all means an independent actor, although a minor one. It mainly secured a continental beachhead for the British, whose priorities set the tone for the policies that the Netherlands would pursue. And I am a little perplexed about Poland, too. At the end of the War of Polish Succession, Poland was virtually annexed to Saxony. The only pretender, Stanislas Leszcynski spent the rest of his life in a new homeland, Lorraine. To make matters worse, Prussia, Russia, and Austria literally dismembered Poland, which disappeared from the map until WWI. In the new game, the Hapsburg state would obviously follow the pattern of behavior showed by the HRE in MTW - a huge faction, although surrounded by potential enemy forces, often in dire financial straits. |

Prussia was called Brandenburg until 1701 when the Emperor granted Elector Frederick the title of King in Prussia.

Thanks Bossdave,
I created it for two reasons, one, because everyone would have an updated list of known facts about the game and two, to avoid having the same thread appearing again and again. Would be easy to have a sticky, even if a mod/admin would copy paste it into there own thread, ofcourse that would mean they had to update it themselves on a regular base. |
