Thanks Bossdave, but, I don't mind. Me casa es su casa, eh?

Heya yakaspat, first I'd like to say kudos for the work you did on this mod
I only had 2 questions. 1.) I have the darthmod that was created for the retrofit, AND the retrofit...so I have both and was wondering if you THINK that this mod would conflict with the darthmod/retro combo....even if you think it does I'm going to try anyway cause I can always delete it and reinstall it as I have the install file still, but before I have the time to do it I was just wondering if you knew or could venture a guess. 2.) You said that you changed the recruit priority offset of some of your units in the original unit addon thread, did you include those factors with this mod? or are they still "vanilla"? Thanks in advance! |

Hi Yaka,
I just thought I'd report a bug that came up in my own mod recently and is also present in your unit addon mod. When I tried adding mangonels for every faction I noticed Hungary, Poland, and Russia have no unit skins. This is because they use NE_Mangonel_Crew. regards Dave |

test it for you.
2. Yes, I did tweak some of the recruit priority figures, but, not much. I mostly changed Madrono's own figures a bit and reduce the priority for ballistas, catapults, and other seige weapons. Bossdave wrote: Wow, how did that get past me?!

On the Priority offset, I reduced catapults to 9.5 and Trebuchets to 11 and that seemed to be a very good balance, you only have 2-4 siege engines now and not
the 6-9 of what it was before. Also, can you post your grapeshot entries, I haven't been able to get them to work when I tried it (before the disc break).

SSJPabs wrote: I hope your priority offsets are negative numbers??? I had trebuchets at -5 and I still was seeing Milanese armies with four or five trebs, so, I reduced trebs further to -10 and ballista and catapaults to -15...we'll see how that goes. Here are my grapeshot entries, I got them all to work except serpentines, which I can't seem to figure out: |

Yes, they were negative. I was looking at gunpowder weapons when I wrote the above numbers. My regular siege engine numbers are between-15 and -5, sorry.
Thanks for the entries, I don't think serpentines CAN fire alternate ammo, that is, they don't have secondary ammo like the others. Besides, they're already dedicated AP weapons!

you could probably get a serpentine to fire grapeshot only but not both single projectiel and grapeshot. elephants are the same way they cannot fire secondary
ammo, but you can give them to fire grapeshot if its the only ammo they use. moster bombards are the same as well. my 2 davinci tanks (monster bombards with
invisible crews) fire high explosive for one tank and grapeshot for the other tank.

All download slots assigned to your country (Malaysia) are currently in use. Please try again in a few hours or install the Megaupload Toolbar for immediate access - with the toolbar installed, there are no more slot limitations for you! Yak.. For old times sake can you upload it to other than megaupload...

That's really annoying, sorry. I didn't know that site would do that. according to their site, that message only comes up for certain geographical
areas (probably areas outside of the US and Europe) during peak hours (I guess they need more servers?). I'm having problems with Filefront (again),
everytime my upload gets to 90% it just stops and sits forever and doesn't finish. I've tried
I just finished putting the Patch2 on rapidshare, here. For some reason when I tried to upload the main mod to rapidshare, it gives me a "page cannot displayed" error message. Weird. I'll try rapidshare again tonight. EDIT: Just noticed the max upload size is 100 megs...that explains that. In the meantime, keep trying Megaupload. Sorry Lestat. If you can find
a quality free file host, besides rapidshare, filefront, or uploading (I have problems with that site timing out on me), please let me know.

If you use Firefox an Add-on called Megaupload 3 disables the stupid "slots are full. I live in Thailand and ALWAYS get this message. I use this and can
verify it.
There are fixes for IE but I have never used them. I gather using a proxy for blind surfing. JW |

I had an interesting experience the other night playing my mod. I was given a mission to capture Damascus from my Council of Nobles, in exchange for some
elite units at my capital. I captured Damascus, but, wow, I was pleasantly surprised at the gift the Council gave me in Paris! Check out the screenshot

it goes to show that the game has some measure of intelligence. if only it could apply itself more in the campaign ai.

Well, the campaign AI in the Retromod is actually much improved over the campaign AI in the vanilla game. But, it is still not perfect. Jack Lusted created
(from scratch, I think he said in his post) new AI files for his LTC mod, maybe you can check those out?

As far as I know where ever you success you misson. You will always get the rewards units at your capital and the best units that game means is the most
expensive units that you can currently recruit.

The crusader guilds, especially the Tutonic guild is much too powerfull for this mod. The fact that these units can be recruited in cities makes the game much
too easy. I think guilds should be left as was with Vanilla, and the new crusader units should be available as castle units, and only in certain areas of
effect such as Templar and Hospitallier units in the levant, and Tutonic units in NE Europe.
