Can´t play after installing patch 1.2.

Posts: 4 08/29/08 19:45:25	Tags : help, patch, ctd, error First of all, I'd like to excuse, I don´t know how to navigate through this forums. But the problem is, I installed the game, the patches 1.2 and 1.3 and Kingdoms. The Kingdoms is ok, but the first one doesn't works. I unistalled, installed again. The game with no patches works. I installed 1.2, the game iniciates, go to the "first screen" that one wroten Medieval II Total War with some knights in the background. Then it comes a message synig that "Medieval II: Total War has encountered as unspecified error and will now exit." EVERY TIME. I installed 1.3, nothing better, installed Kingdoms and it works perfectly, but the original game doesn't works. Additional details: Core 2 Duo 1.86, 2GB of RAM, 256MB of video card. Just to finish, I use to play this game a couple months ago, but I had to uninstall it. The error is just coming now. Best wishes everybody!!

Posts: 5617 08/30/08 14:56:14 Administrator	you installed the game an patches all at once before playing, no? when you install kingdoms, it will only do so after 1.2 is installed. you can also try running MTW2 after installing Kingdoms. also, you should uninstall, delete the leftover files and registries, and try again. perhaps one of those lingering files may be causing the problem

Posts: 2 09/02/08 22:56:53	i got the similar problem but even worse i guess, when i tried to update the game to 1.3 after updating it to 1.2, the updater said "the file packs_0 is either missing or invalid..." when i look at the folder, the file was there and there is nothing wrong with it.... please help me solve this want coz i dying to play kingdoms!!!
