Medieval gold instilation |

I already have medieval 2 total war installed and i recently bought the gold edition but when i install it it says it can not update version 1.00.01 to version
1.00.03 , when i uninstalled the original medieval 2 total war and tried to install the gold edition it said it was not able to find a language??? any help
please

I have exactly the same problem. I had the game already installed when i bought the gold edition. When I tried to isntall it I got the message that it can not
update version 1.00.01 to version 1.00.03. So uninstalled my previous version so i could install all of it from the gold edition dvds. However now I cant even
get through the setup before i get a message saying "Cannot determine the installed game language for Medieval 2 Total War: Gold".
I would very much appreciate some help |

Browse the game disc and find Update2 and run and install that.

Update 2 didn't work...
OK here's what I had to do to work around this - not too hard. Step by step (as I know a couple of other people who also have a similar problem) Insert disk 1, if autorun enabled click quit. Open 'my computer' right click on the disk drive (that contains the inserted disk 1) select open. This opens a folder containing all the files on the disk. Ignore the icon that says 'Set up' this one gives the same error message. Double click on 'Disk 1' folder There should be another icon that says 'Set up' (I think its a blueish coloured one) - this one works - double click it! However it doesn't automatically install Kingdoms, when its finished installing M2TW, you need to insert disk 2 - again click quit if autorun enabled. Then you have to open my computer and open the disk drive (ignore the icon that says 'set up') and select each of the campaign folders one at a time, open then and double click the 'setup' icon thus installing each seperate campaign... Sigh, take long drink from cold beer and begin the slaughter... :) hope this helps |

when i tried disk1 it was empty then i found a different setup that doesn't work
