I was playing as Hungary, and I had a good start, absorbing rebel settlements, getting a marriage alliance with Poland, and fighting a Crusade. Next thing I
know, Venice, and the Byzantine Empire have a double alliance against me (Marriage saved me from Poland). I sent a large army under my prince and took
Constantinople. Thinking I could reach peace I sent diplomats; blatant refusal. Venice continuously marched armies against Budapest, while BE sent horde after
horde against Constantinople, and Sofia. After a few turns my funds where depleted. I figured it was a waiting game, but soon realized I was wrong. 3 cities
needed upgrades on the same turn, one needed the best walls to (9k florins). This kept happening; I would finally upgrade the rioting city then another one
would need upgrade. Getting very frustrated I squabbled away many of my Holy Land cities, Aleppo, Gaza, Damascus, but I held onto Antioch and Jerusalem. This
gave me the money to seize Thesalonica. Keeping taxes low and upgrading Antioch's walls put me back in the hole. I had to slowly trudge into BE territory
until finally I took BE off of Europe and forced Nicae out of their hands. Turkey ended BE, thus Vennice was easily defeated. Not that I minded all this, on
the contrary, I loved the challenge. AI seemed smart and I liked it. Share your stories of smart AI on ths thread.
