Posts: 318 04/30/09 10:22:01	Let me be the first to comment... So now when a developer 'turns their attention' and is 'busily working' that is a daily update..??? What's next? arriving at the office? smoke break? ;) Just joshing, I'm guessing we will get back to some actual substance soon. I wonder if they are also working on the battle AI for this patch... or that is the gameplay patch after this one... hopefully all these patches continue to increase the campaign AI and their actions as well.

Posts: 222 04/30/09 14:02:59	at least they are making the effort (even if it is a very little effort) to let us know what is going on....... what else can they really say after releasing the last patch other than working on the next patch... we don;t have any details to give yet since we are at the begining stages of stamping out bugs etc...(althoguh not entirely true since i am sure they have made some adjustments that did nto make it into this patch due to testing etc etc...... i think their daily update is sufficient after releasing a major patch...... they need time to get thier game face on for the next round before they can give out any information........ and the information they intend to give out needs to justified in that they can deliver what they say or somethign close to it......

Posts: 3168 04/30/09 23:09:42 Moderator	There needs to be an update on how the economy affects the AI. I've seen games where the AI seems to have trouble coping with the new economic penalties, but then we can't forget the minor factions that were somehow able to field 3 full stacks. Does the blockading the AI's ports and engaging in economic warfare actually help?

Posts: 387 05/01/09 09:58:10	I got a post patch CTD when my army was moved by the AI cuz I forgot it. That caused a CTD. Now my game won't load without causing a CTD. I think I have experienced more CTD's since the patch, and this one counts as a game ender, because I can't continue the campaign. Least the Inuits don't cause CTD's any more. I think.

CTD when merging an army with another army that is garrisoned in a city, town, school, farm, etc. etc. Does not happen all the time or regularly at a specific spot. Sometimes the same merge after restart will cause another CTD, sometimes the merge is successful and can play on until another CTD happens at a different location.

America on the other hand where alive and kicking my ass.

Posts: 454 05/05/09 10:17:39	The only CTD i've had with my last campaign was with merging a unit from a fort with one outside of it. I got around that though by moving the unit outside the fort first and then merging it with the other unit. Otherwise it's been CTD free and spot on. As for AI aggressiveness, well Europe is far more alive than pre patch with especially Eastern Europe having major out right war with many more region changes post battles so that's good to see. I've seen a few naval invasions. Now the one thing that still bugs me is diplomacy. Instead of giving minor nations 3 full stacks when major nations with far more regions can only support 1 surely it would be smarter to fix the diplomacy system so that alliances actually count for something? Then to survive the minor nations will have to do things like ally with major nations and call for help and help actually be provided in order for them to survive. Or of course become protectorates of the attacking nation without having to pay vast sums of money for it to occur. Basically fix diplomacy and you add an entirely new depth to ETW. Of course also fix the BAI. So far i haven't fought a single battle in my post patch GB campaign because i'm fed up with it.
