is there a lame broadside bonus or someting?
and how does this with "sail Shoot" work? some times noting happens, (usally when I shoot) and some times the mast brakes realy fast, like imediaty...(usally when some shoot at me) |

Chainshot doesn't work well when they have their sails up. It's very easy to shoot sails if you fire a broad side at the front/back of the enemy ship.
Just make sure that they have there sails down.

Broadside does a big impact on morale, but it is far more accurate than just normal shooting

yes, to do a proper chain shot be in front of or behind your enemy when they have their sails set at full.
Sometimes normal shot from a distance can have a similar effect though, as you angle the shot higher to cover more the distance. The advantage of a broadside is the devastating effect on morale, but it only works for a full cannon rack. personally I found that broadsides shot from an angle of about 30° into the enemy ship do the heaviest damage. The disadvantage of broadsides is that all your cannon are looking into a parallel direction. When you let them fire at will, they can hit the enemy from a variety of angles, and sometimes even shoot at two different vessels (if they are close together). |

I didn't know about the moral effect, but I'm not sure about it being more accurate. The couple times I tried a broadside were mostly against a bow or
stern. during those times I watched a lot of the cannonballs miss because of the smaller target. But with raking fire, they all fire in turn as they go by the
enemy ship. It seems it misses a lot less then.
