If you are returning to catch up on this thread, skip to post 124,125 to start. This is post 1.3.
As a side note, most of the Wishes that have come true were in the Technical Additions category!
Technical Additions
- Ability to cancel Military Access granted to you by another nation
- Ability to specify Trade Agreement durations (like military access)
- AI does not make ridiculous offers i.e. they want france for 250$
- Allow me to see the diplomacy score on the screen where I'm making a deal, or listening to a deal.
- Bonus for accepting a Call to Arms from ally
- Check box system that specifies which regions i'm willing to trade.
- Different State Gifts give different relationship boosts
- Don't boot me back out to the main diplomacy screen if I've failed to get a deal. This is annoying, I want to try again.
- Indicator that shows how many turns remain on a multi-turn gold payment. (evidence of turns left like with military access)
- Let me block contact from a particular nation if I choose to.
- Peace deal made by player with ai will be offered for his allies to sign as well, similar to the way when an ally declares war the player is offered to join in.
- Player recieves AI-AI peace notifications.
- War cannot be declared in the same turn that treaties are cancelled (i.e. must cancel treaties and wait a turn before declaring war)
Complex Additions
- A "Move your armies from our border" demand/deal option. (to possibly include agents)
- Ability to form coalitions, which would be that allied factions cannot go to war or get peace without majority vote, requires minimum 3 factions to sign, and more can be added.
- Ability to organize an embargo.
- Ability to Liberate/Annex territory (allows a nation to emerge peacefully with the liberator, annexation could tie into longterm good relations as a protectorate or religious unrest, like a territory converted to hinduism would want to be a part of a hindu nation)
- Ability to trade "trade theatre spots"
- Ability to gift armies/agents/ships
- Ability to request troops from allies and demand troops from protectorates.
- Ability to discuss other nations when engaged in diplomacy. (ex. Bring an ally into a war that preexists with the player)
- Ability to fund rebellions/seed unrest in an opposing nation. (no diplo penalty with new nation if rebellion succeeds, heavy diplo penalty with original nation if fails)
- Deal Builder, where I can offer/ask for all manner of things. e.g. "If you make peace with Courland and stop blockading their port, I'll give you 3 units of Line Infantry and will ally with you against the Dutch."
- Differentiation between Wars of Aggression and Wars of Preservation (this would affect territorial expansion penalties, higher for aggression, lower for preservation)
- Diplomat Assistant, to help figure out if a deal will be accepted. i.e. a proposed deal is "very generous" or "very unlikely".
- Make "Weak", "Destitute" etc actually mean something and influence deals. (or if it does please share what it does)
- Once a peace treaty is signed, either nation is unable to declare war again for a number of turns. (mabye cease fires?)
- That protectorates be unable to declare war independently.
- Taking Pirate land yields a diplomatic bonus, and if destroyed yields a huge bonus! (permanent please!)
- Stop raiding X trade route(s) (and stop for a number of turns agreed on)
Miscellaneous
- No permanent diplomatic penalty for "Alliance Not Honored"
- Unlimited amout of trade agreements (not limited by ports at the end of the game since there are 50 factions possible.)
- A bonus for longterm peace, not due to treaties and such. Mabye called "The Peace between Us", +1 for every 3 turns of peace.
- Ability to show my displeasure to a nation, not just war.
- Have a lesser gift than tea cup to give away.
- Every time they chuck in a "You scum-sucking maggot" comment or whatever, allow me to do my own free text entry reply, that pops up on the screen in the same format as their reply. This won't do anything in the game, but will make me feel a whole lot better.
- Ability for protectorate to propose joining protectors nation after some years.
- Family tree (for royal marriages and such)
Wishes Do Come True
- AI makes a counteroffer instead of flat refusing i.e. haggle. (Done!)
Allies and Protectorates give a reduced "territorial expansion" penalty (-5 instead of -10 mabye)Not needed, Territorial Expansion changed. That Pirate states to have a diplomatic option, even if they are next to impossible to deal with, and will break any agreement at the drop of a hat.Won't be happening.- Emerging nations are Indifferent. It would help if they don't have a gargantuan territorial expansion penalty against me (late game will be in the hundreds). The problem is that emerging nations appear with the sum total of all penalties you accrued in gameplay against you. Like Espionage, Expansion, etc. (Done!)
- AI accepts reasonable peace offer (Done!)
- Trade possible over land if borders touch, not just the capital (Done!)
Nations do not start out as Protectorates and are not in Alliances at start of game. (trade agreements too?)Won't be happening.
If you want me to add or reword something, or move something to another category let me know.
