Hi, I just bought Medieval II gold edition (game plus expansion), and am trying to patch it to the latest version.
How can I find out what version I have now and what version of the patch is needed for someone living in austrailia? |

If you have the gold edition, you only need patch 1.5. Can't say I
know what version of the patch you need though, either the UK gold one or the US gold one.

Once installed you can check the version number in the main menu > options. It'll come up in the corner.
1.4 is Kingodoms unpatched, 1.5 being for Kingdoms. 1.3 is Medieval II. Depends if your disc contains 1.5. If not, all you need to do is install normally then apply 1.5 (which is Kingdoms only). |

Thanks, I found out that need the 1.5 patch.
Does anyone know if there are any problems with installing the wrong version of the patch? Will it break my game somehow, or will it just not work? |

Installing the non-gold patch on the gold version will cause it not to run (different exe, cd error) and vice versa.

Does that mean that there are no problems with trying to install the uk patch with the us version or vice versa? I live in australia and have know idea which
version I have.

The Australian version should be the same as the European one.

hi, excuse me for joining this discussion. I also recently picked up the Gold edition of Med 2 TW. I live in New Zealand and the back of my manual mentions
Australia, so I guess I have the Australian version.
I checked the version via the options menu and it shows 1.03. So do i need to patch to 1.4 then 1.5, or can I just go straight to the 1.5 version? Any appropriate links to patches I require will be much appreciated Cheers Scott |

If you download and install the wrong country patch, the game will not run. but you can easily uninstall the game, and reinstall with the correct patch
