Von München relaxed behind his desk. The invasion of Switzerland had changed to occupation of Switzerland two months ago and was now near being the annexation of Switzerland. Kaiser would be pleased. Also some of the Italian city states, tribal societies and gang territories had accepted a friendly invitation to join the mighty empire. Venice and Rome, the two areas that really could be called states of some kind had accepted to join the empire first, after peaceful negations and the rest of Italy had followed peacefully. And with information acquired from the various institutions in Switzerland empire's somewhat outdated technology had jumped forward decades. They were now gaining their neighbors' with speed. They had even launched their first satellite to orbit. And even the cloning project had advanced little bit. Land acquired: Switzerland, Italy Technology advances: cloning program 15%, army weapon's upgrade 50%, improved combat armors 60% (due the Swiss institutions data) Population: 1 million Army: 60 000

Project Jerusalem is complete.
Israel is now annexed by USE after finding no signs of human civilisation there, just a crumbling country. Israel now part of USE. Along with Lebanon for the sake of it. Rebuilding of Israel and Lebanon started. 10%. Celebrations of the takeover of Israel are met with Mass Love Making (MLM) . Population increases to 1.9 million. Yearly Income drops to £15b to help rebuild Israel and Lebanon. USE cloning project. 20% Zombie outbreak in the Canary Islands. Canary Islands are temorarily sealed off and no longer part of USE, food and supplies are dropped from air for suvivors for the next month. Luigi the terroist is blamed for the outbreak in USE media.
Pictures of Luigi the terroist are posted all of the USE media and internet.

The cold wind blew hardly among the ruins of Moscow. Even the prototype combat suit didn't protect colonel Henkel from the winter blast of the wastelands surrounding the once great city. He was standing at the middle of the Red Square, gazing around slowly. He couldn't help feeling slightly sad. The crumbling buildings around him still carried some marks of their past grandeur, but the years of disrepair, acid rains and other problems caused by the nuclear war had done their best to destroy them. Henkel was the leader of a expedition of few thousand men sent into Moscow to recover technology, history, culture and anything of any value. Their secondary objective was to establish a outpost to serve as a base for later colonization. At the moment they were digging up hidden bunker under the Kremlin. Demolition expert Kassler had just laid the explosives on a pipe, which, they believed, led to the bunker. "You might want stand back sir. That's some serious explosives down there." Kassler said as he armed the remote detonator. "Oh, yes of course." Henkel said and walked hundred meters away from the demolition site. "3…2…1…Fire" Kassler shouted and pressed the red button. The roaring of the explosion was instantly faded away by the helmet of Henkel's suit, leaving only a small bang audible. When the mushroom shaped cloud of dust had faded away he approached the crater. The pipe was blown wide open and was clearly leading somewhere downwards. "Excellent job Kassler. Squad, prepare you cave expedition equipment. We don't know what lies down there. "Herr Colonel, HQ wants to talk with you in the communicator. They want a report ASAP." "Fine. Captain! Oh, there you are. You'll lead the squad down there. Report me immediately if you find something. Understood?" "Jawohl!" "Then get a move on." Henkel walked to the bio-sealed tent few hundred meters away. Inside he took off his helmet and grabbed the communicator. "What?" he said with rather irritated voice. "Have you found anything?" was the answer in form of a question from the HQ. "Well were yet to find any technology, but we have found many cultural treasures from the ruins. Also we've discovered locations of few soviet nukes. I've sent men to collect them." "Good. How about that bunker under Kremlin?" "I just sent a squad to investigate it. As a matter of fact they seem to be on line two. Hold on a se. Yes?" "Errr…sir I think we hit the jackpot." said the captain. "What is it?" "Technology, sir. And cloning pools." "Ill have a pick up team sent there ASAP." said Henkel
Income due to the Italy and Switzerland: 25 billion € Technological advancement: Adv. Combat Armor 100%, army weapon upgrading 90%, Cloning 50%, due to the Russian cloning pools acquired. Compulsory military service introduced, army size now 200 000. BTW Anyone wan't an alliance? And GCS i'd like to negotiate about splitting the balkans with mutually beneficial areas.

President Dr Who sat at his desk on a hot, sunny Friday evening. It was like every other Friday, the Dr would get his weekly dose of cheese and carrott cake
coupled with hot chocolate and a foot rest, the Dr was about to leave his office when one of his aids ran into the room. " Sir ! Our navy and aircraft in
the Mediterranean are getting strange signals on their radios and transmit-.." The Dr abruptley stood up and said " Let me guess aliens ? A cow with
a radio on its neck ? Or has our good friend, Luigi the terroist, blown up another paper towel ? " The aid, who was called Dave, took a few steps forward
before showing the President, Dr whatever he is, some papers reading 'Urgent' on the front. The aid called Dave gave them to the Dr.
" The signal is coming from Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza to be precise. " The aid called Dave stated. " Well ? What do you want me to do ? Blow it up ? " The Dr shouted. " No, I was going to ask you for permission to send a recon team to scout the area of whats left of Egypt and Libya. " The aid called Dave said. " Of course send one out now ! And make sure they're not from Wales this time, I cant stand those guys, if it wasnt for the Welsh we would still have cheese sandwiches !". |

Will Crimea become free nation or will be slaughtered by Osmans? You'll see that in next year! (Next hour) JS: If Crimean revolt fails, we'll slaughter Ukraine n all wut's left wit Greece!
G Kara Mustafa Pasha: will we take all Ukraine? JS: O' course no!! Only coastal territories! G Kara Mustafa Pasha: Ok! JS: Yeeeaaahhh!!! Technologies under research: Apocalyptic bomb: Bomb which could blow all of Earth, though it will not be used to destroy, but to scare other nations. 22% Done. Long life drugs: These are drugs who'll be supposed to longer human life time. Humans will live 200-250 years. 5% Done. Canister Laser shot: Only will be used by Heavy artillery (yet). 65% Done. Flying Soccer: Very fast plane, 20,000 KM/S fast, though only will be used in scouting and transporting. 2% Done. @ CheeseCowCheese: Do you want to exchange some techs? Do you have laser weapons, yet? If no then i can exchange it for some of your tech.

Charax Perseides stood under a spotlight before the governing panel of Seleucia Astraea. 10 scientists, entrusted with the higher political power, were seated
opposite him, each under a spotlight of his own.
"First Citizen Perseides", Lucius Cassiopius, an ageing space physicist started, his voice a toneless flow of cold precision, "there have been several interesting - or I should rather say alarming - events during your recent directorship. Events that require a reassertion of the validity of your choices and our actions." "All our actions are geared towards the greater plan. All my choices are geared towards those actions. Let us analyze the facts of the situation as it is now, and we will see whether I am still the most fit citizen to direct this panel." "Very well. We will start with the affairs of Mars. You are our leading specialist on terraforming, and had proposed a series of projects to increase the liveability of our planet when you were first appointed First Citizen. Little has come of these projects." "We have encountered unforeseen difficulties, which have pushed back the timetable on most of the projects. Furthermore, many resources that can be found only on Earth are required for the greater project to continue. Still, we have successfully set up a research outpost in Olympia Planitia and have increased agricultural production in Hellas Planitia, as planned." "And what of Earth? It is noted that several petty empires have increasingly amalgamated, and have been directing their research efforts on potentially dangerous technologies, namely cloning, nuclear weapons and space flight." "History is repeating itself, as we can all see". It was Anna Argyre, the panel's psychohistorian. "Our mathematical models show an exponentially increasing probability for a new global war. One that may leave Earth closed off to us for more than a hundred years this time." "It is well noted, and we have begun taking steps to alleviate this situation. Our soon to be formalised alliance with Murmansk Sunset…" "Possibly formalised…" Anna's voice was as cold as polar dry ice. "Murmansk Sunset shares a unique affinity to our society. What we have accomplished by accident and perseverance under natural conditions, they strive to accomplish by design…" "And therein lies the main qualitative difference. Our society was formed by some of the smartest people of Earth, people who were above the petty territorial squabbling that led to the devastation of that planet. Under hostile environmental conditions, their offspring learned to coexist in a society that is bereft of the worse psychological pathologies of the human condition. The 'elite' of Murmansk Sunset, on the other hand, are those same people of the decadent age, who had frozen themselves in a vain quest to attain a measure of immortality. They may share our mean intelligence but not our societal values, nor the intellectual benefits of our post-anarcho-economic structure. Their advanced technology and disdain for the barbarians of the rest of Earth makes them more compatible with us on the surface, but we fear that on a deeper level they are guided by the same measure of greed and vanity as the barbarians." "And are we not guided by vanity, if not greed? We disdain cloning, as something that would lead to genetic stagnation, and yet we set ourselves apart from other humans with a certainty that defies the possibility of an eventual temporal convergence. Murmansk Sunset is our best hope for such a convergence, our best hope for a civilised Earth." "Your friendship with executive Nikolai Saratov has been the subject of some study…" Anna waited for a reaction, but Charax didn't give her one. "We have not yet come to a conclusion as to whether his charisma and your compassion to what you view as the 'entrenched intellectuals of Earth' are adversely affecting your policy choices." "I suppose Saratov's arrival here will give you the extra input you need?" "It is estimated so, yes. He will be closely observed, to determine both his own motives, and their effects on yours." "That is to be expected. Is there anything else on this matter?" "Actually," Cassiopius said with some thought, "there was something peculiar noticed by our solar wind probes. A few weeks ago, there was a linear disturbance in the magnetic field of the solar wind, similar to that of our experimental plasma jet engines, but a thousand times greater in intensity. There is no natural explanation, as of yet, to what may have caused it, and no human nation is estimated to be anywhere near close to achieving something of that magnitude." "Is this a matter for the panel?" "There is still much research to be done, but there is one factor that makes it a matter of potentially planetary security. That linear disturbance did not exit the solar system. The error bars are considerable, but our reconstructions show that it intersects the orbit of Earth…" "Earth?" "Possibly somewhere around the Mediterranean Sea, although we cannot be certain of the precise trajectory of the disturbance." "We will reprogram our surveillance satellites to observe that area for any energetic peculiarities, then, and we can ask our Earthling associates for any information they may have. "I assume you are all already briefed on our military projects?" Ten heads nodded gravely. "Then you can be assured that our contingency plans will have the means calculated to be necessary for them, should any need arise." "I think we are done for today", Cassiopius said. "There is no objection from the panel to the present course of our government. The next planned review is set for three days after Saratov's arrival." The spotlights went off, and the room was illuminated by soft florescent lights. "So", Charax said to his fellow citizens as they got up, "who's up for cranitas?" Research progress: Rocketcruiser chassis with two missile hardpoints, two point defence laser hardpoints and two gravity bomb hardpoints: 70% Basic point defence laser: 50% Advanced conventional warhead missile: 45% Gravity bomb: 97% Plasma jet propulsion: 5% Pressure pocket terraforming: 25% North pole water and mineral survey: 1% |

GSC: If you're going to come up with an "Apocalyptic bomb", you should at least come up with a plausible explanation on how it works, or how a
nation with barely post-2009 level technology can invent it within a few years, because I can't think of anything. Also, how does "Canister Laser
shot" work, exactly?
Also, 200,000 km/s is 2/3rds the speed of light. Quite a bit over the top, don't you think? Especially since we have no idea what that "flying soccer" (I assume you meant saucer) uses for propulsion. I have no problem with a healthy advance of future technologies, but I'd prefer it if we tried to keep it within reason, otherwise we'll have universe-destroying bombs and faster than light travel by the end of the week (and it's already Friday). |

1. If you've paid attention to what gggg has been writing, it's 100 years after the end of the nuclear war, so definitely not 2022...
2. Impossible! 3. lasers don't come in balls! It's light beams! Light beams aren't shot out of a cartridge and they don't curve! This is basic physics! 4. 20,000 km.s is still very, very fast for anything that's not a spaceship. |

Adding to Sel's points:
That will be unacceptable. The free and enlightened civilizations of Murmansk Sunset and Seleucia demand you cease the development of these devices or we will stop them for you. This is your only warning. The remote possibilty you will acctually accomplish your aims is reason enough to punish you severly. - Joint emergency declaration from the offices of the Council and First Citizenship of their respective nation-states. Guys, we need to have a discussion. All these far out technologies take TIME to research. Lots of time and effort would be spent in order to get anywheres near completion. Especially these wonder cure drugs for cancer and such. That's too absurd a proposition. Cloning, okay, maybe. We can almost do it nowdays. But curing cancer would take years of research, and in a post-apocalyptic society, it's unlikely to happen so quick. Focus on small, incrimental advancement. Cheese, your society on the moon will have to fail. Because we haven't even finished voting on if we can, and so far there were two resounding No's. Not to mention, you can't just announce that it's done. You need to go into details. Otherwise, I'll announce next post that Murmansk Sunset has built a moon-destroying system, and is about to give Earth a new set of rings. That wouldn't be fair, would it? Neither is this random and so obscenely rapid development.

i think that the best solution to get rid this fast fowarding is that we agree what the hell is the date in the game. For example i thought that between my
second and third advancement was two years gap.
