Empire Total War bug - cannot accelerate battles |

I've recently noticed a bug which seems to post date the latest patch (1.3). I cannot speed up battles using the buttons on the Battlefield control Panel.
Then if a battle is not resolved within 15 to 20 minutes the game crashes.
Is this a bug and if so is there a fix? |

It's because of the multithreading they implemented. Go to the scripts folder in the application data, and open up the file there. There should be a line
that says "multithreading" in it. Change the true to false. I had the same problem.

I'm not sure about that, I'm not at my computer with the game. I think the address is something like C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application
Data\Creative Assembly\scripts

It is not a bug, it was a result of implementing advanced multithreading, and your game most probably is running in fast forward but with no gitter due to that
fact, and doesn't seem "fast" as before while in reality it is.
As to the crash after 20 minutes, this is definitely a bug, but most probably can be resolved by an upgrade to drivers/hardware, as I have fought full battles since 1.3 release with no issues. It might be worthwhile to check on the tech forums, maybe you have a problem with the size of the memory on you gig and you need a small upgrade. |
