Are they ever going to bring up all the stuff that is in the game but they never completed such as:
Family tree Bribing characters Night Battles Prisoners Slums developing in towns Ladders, sap points and petardiers In battle Rag-doll physics Injuries/casualties (the injuries animations are still there) Diseases Natural disasters Transport ships Modding tools |

The BAI is a problem, but when I'm in a siege (playing as Prussia, VH VH), I find it welcome to win with 500 against 2000 or more, for te contiuning of my
campaign. When everyone is against me and i can fight to live another day, that's a good thing. Surely it is not the same as in MTWII, but still.

I have played all the Total War games since the first MTW and I have to say that the BAI in ETW is the worse of them all. I am pretty bad at real time battles, yet I can beat Hard BAI in ETW with no problems and with minimum micro when both armies are equal in strength. Not only that, the enemy usually loses 90% of its army while I have 20%-30% casualties. That is how bad the BAI is. One way to improve the BAI is to increase its moral so they don't run away 5 minutes into the battle. That really becomes very annoying after a while. The BAI loses its units anyway to our chasing armies so you might as well let the BAI fight a little longer before it runs away. That at least will give us the impression that the BAI is better. In addition to that I am too waiting for the long promised MOD Tools. I always mod my Total War games to my liking and not being able to do so with ETW is a real bummer. So far I find ETW campaign too slow and uneventful and I would like to mod the game so it is a faster pace. So please improve the BAI and release the promised MOD Tools. Until this is done I will NOT buy NTW. |

I've worked in the It industry and know the pressures management can put on teams to release by a certain date - stupid really, gamers aren't concerned
by dates but by quality! I know dates have a $$$ factor but maybe IT teams should work to a fixed budget and unfixed time, until the game is finished and
tested PROPERLY!!!
The ETW game concept is fairly good, not as realitic as I'd like but obviosuly aimed at a wider audience. The game is lacking in some areas but i think this might be system related - 32bit OS - 3G max mem. Once everyone goes 64bit, this will open up more opportunities. I still like the TW - "By demand" option, whereby users prepay (some money) to get what they want in the game, rather than CA "game designers" telling users what they're going to get. For example, apparently alot work was done on "Duels" ....??? I haven't had a duel YET! maybe i'm missing some cute feature the game has? but 2 gentlemen having "cat fight" is not the same as an Assassin's devious ways of killing a target. Another thing, why take away the link between strategic terrain and tactical terrain? was that a resource issue? - memory limitation? or just the company trying to save time / money? This makes ETW battles non-realistic. If a team had a fixed budget for given game / upgrade then they could work out if that's viable or not. Any time overruns would be the responisbility of the developers. Maybe there could be a financial bonus for "quality" of the game - as given by users? All the above depends on Sales figures for TW, I'm not privy to these figures. A |

You know... there are a couple of companies breaking from the norm of having to work under the shadow of a publisher... I know Interstellar marines is one.
Maybe somehow, CA could find its way from from EA one day and with highspeed internet, publish their own games directly to the fans, and leave the greedy
middle man out?

Not likely at the moment, SEGA isn't just the published of Total War, they bought the Creative Assembly a couple of years back. CA is part of SEGA now.

This is a good post. However, it seems that, compared to SEGA's budget and demands, CA is too ambitious. They wanted to implement a lot of ideas (very good
ideas) but didn't have the time and finance to realise them all. CA...sometimes less is more ;). Maybe something to think about for next time...

Ah, I wish CA could consider a new publisher, but it isn't that simple when SEGA owns them and probably made a decent enough amount of income from ETW;
while I wish CA would go to some publisher who actually cared about making quality games I don't see that happening in the foreseeable future.

  i have bought all the total war games and untill empire i was more than happy
with them. sega sold empire before it was ready to milk our money,it was full of bugs and crashes and had to be patched.the reputation of total war games is
tarnished as a result. napoleon will not do well as people will expect the same shoddy treatment..since i bought warpath campain the whole control panel at
the bottem of the screen is scrambled does anybody know what thats about???
