Is there a possibility to not have to fight my friend every single time a battle starts? It's fun to fight each other every now and then but it really takes the whole fun out of the game if we have to fight each other all the time. Especially if one doesn't want to play competetive (sometimes we want to play to relax).
Is it possible to just spectate the fight or give the control of the AI units to the AI? I mean, they are AI units after all, why do I have to fight for them all the time. Once or twice every now and then it is fun, but please not all the freaking time. Auto Resolve is not an optione, because then I'd just play Civilizations. Multiplayer in all other Total War games was so much better :/
There are a few solutions to this problem:
1) Allow the idle player to spectate the Battle.
2) Allow the idle player to give control of all units to the AI (in older Total War games it was possible to let the AI play some Units...)
Both options are really easy to implement. It would be great if the Empires Multiplayer Campaign could be played in a coop style. Competetive play is important and fun, but a game also needs the possibility to be played for relaxations and fighting human opponents all the time is quite exhausting (and some people I don't even want to fight: for example if I'm way better/weaker than my opponent or I don't really want to fight my girlfriend).
Auto Resolve also kills all the fun, because the campaign map is quite OK, but lacks depth compared to other similiar games - which is no problme as long as the battles are that good. But auto resolve degrades the game to a weak civilization 1. So it would be really great if Battles in the multiplayer campaign could be played against the AI (the option is there - otherwise one couldn't fight against the AI when both players have an army in the battle...)
