This does not involve any type of malicious attempt by me to pirate any software.
I have played terminator 3:war of the machines for several years and my daughter has also taken an interest in it. I had the idea to order an unused game through amazon.com. It was new in the package and appears to be devoid of scratches. Had the original case and instructions untouched.
At first I tried to play the game outright on a computer that had the game already installed on it. I get an exception error I think is what it is called.
I uninstall the game and try to clean out regedit and anything else I can think of, than I do an install with the new disk. The install functions flawlessly however when I go to play the game on the new disk I get an exception error.
My question is if there is some type of securom that seems to identify my new disk as an illegal copy (which it is not) or what gives?
Of course there is always the chance that the disc is faulty and may very well be from a bad batch that had been pulled from the shelves back years ago when the game was first released. However I tend to believe my first suspicion that my computer is having problems recognizing any disc aside from my old disc is legitimate.
also in computer in the drive tray the game icon IS present. So the computer recognizes the disc.
I also tried to play the disc on my other computer and it would not play on that one either due to the same type of error.
